with On‑Board Power

The DIO‑1616B‑PE provides 16 opto‑isolated inputs (current sink compatible) and 16 opto‑isolated open‑collector outputs (current sink type) on a PCI Express board. It features an on‑board 12VDC power supply (240 mA) for driving opto‑couplers, eliminating the need for an external supply. All 16 inputs can be used as interrupt request signals with per‑bit enable/disable and selectable edge triggering.

On‑board power supply — 12 VDC, 240 mA provided for opto‑coupler operation. Jumpers let you choose internal or external power per block (inputs/outputs separately). Compatible with PIO‑16/16B(PCI)H for easy migration.

  • Opto‑isolated bus — 500 Vrms isolation between PCI Express bus and I/O interfaces, excellent noise immunity.
  • On‑board power supply — 12VDC internal supply for opto‑couplers; no external power needed for inputs/outputs.
  • Surge protection — zener diode (RD47FM or equivalent) on each output transistor.
  • Overcurrent protection — per 8 output channels; protects output transistors from excessive current.
  • Digital filter — software‑configurable per input to reject noise and contact bounce.
  • Interrupt on all 16 inputs — edge selectable (rising/falling) per bit; disable/enable in bit units.

Connector & Cabling

The board uses a 37‑pin D‑SUB connector (female). Pin assignments: I‑00 to I‑17 (inputs), O‑20 to O‑37 (outputs), P0/P1 (common positive), N0/N1 (common negative), and NC. Jumpers select internal or external power per block.

  • Input common (P0/N0) — positive/negative side of external supply, or internal 12V output. Common to 16 input signals.
  • Output common (P1/N1) — positive/negative side of external supply, or internal 12V output. Common to 16 output signals.
  • Internal power — P0/P1 output +12V when internal power selected; N0/N1 serve as ground.
