16 opto-isolated inputs and 16 opto-isolated outputs on a single low-profile PCI board. The PIO-16/16B(LPCI)H delivers 200µsec response, interrupt capability on all inputs, digital filter, and selectable internal/external power supply. Includes both low-profile and standard brackets.

High-Density Digital I/O
with Opto-Isolation

The PIO-16/16B(LPCI)H provides 16 opto-isolated inputs (compatible with current sink output) and 16 opto-isolated open-collector outputs (current sink type). A common terminal is provided per 16 channels, allowing different external power supplies per group. The board supports driver voltages of 12 – 24 VDC for I/O.

Opto-coupler bus isolation separates the PCI bus from the I/O interfaces, delivering excellent noise immunity for industrial environments.

Engineered for reliability in factory automation, the PIO-16/16B(LPCI)H includes advanced protection and signal conditioning features with flexible power supply selection.

  • Digital filter — Prevents wrong recognition of input signals from noise or chattering.
  • Interrupt capability — All 16 input signals can be used as interrupt requests. Select rising or falling edge trigger.
  • Surge voltage protection — Zener diodes (RD47FM or equivalent) connected to output circuits.
  • Overcurrent protection — PolySwitch-based protection circuit per 8 output channels.
  • Internal or external power supply — On-board optocoupler driving power supply; selectable via jumper.
  • Low-profile and standard PCI support — Interchangeable bracket included for both slot types.
