The CAN-2-USB is a CAN/USB converter unit that expands CAN communication functionality to a PC via USB. It is compliant with CAN2.0B communication, supporting speeds up to 1 Mbps. Each channel is controlled by an individual CAN controller, allowing independent communication. The unit can be bus-powered via USB, eliminating the need for an external power supply in many applications.

Bus-powered or self-powered — The unit can be powered directly from the USB bus. For high-noise environments or when bus power is insufficient, an external 10–32 VDC power supply can be used.

Robust Design & Wide Compatibility

The CAN-2-USB is built for industrial environments with a wide operating temperature range and high noise immunity. It supports SAE J2534 (Pass-Thru) and includes device drivers for Windows and Linux.

  • Wide operating temperature — -20 to +60 °C (with airflow 0.7 m/s) or -20 to +55 °C (without airflow).
  • Noise immunity — AC line ±2kV, signal line ±1kV (IEC61000-4-4 Level 3), ESD contact ±4kV / air ±8kV.
  • Vibration & shock — 10–57Hz / 0.15mm semi-amplitude, 57–150Hz / 2.0G; shock 147 m/s² (15G) half-sine 11ms.
  • Supported protocols — RawCAN, ISO-TP (ISO15765-2).
